Creating a user

Use this page to add a new account. A new account can sign in, but it can do nothing until you give it a warehouse and a role.

Before you start

  • You hold the role ADMIN on a warehouse, so you can open Enterprise. See Enterprise sidebar.
  • You know the login the person will use. A login cannot be used twice.
  • You know which warehouse and which role the person needs. See Roles.
  • To make an account of type Admin or Sys, you must yourself be a super-user. See User types and statuses.

Steps

  1. Switch to Enterprise.
  2. Open Configuration > Users & Roles > Users.
  3. Click New User. An empty card opens on the right.
  4. On the General tab fill Login, Full name, Email and Password.
  5. Leave Type as User and Status as Active, unless you need something else.
  6. Check Language, Timezone, Date Format and Theme.
  7. Click Save. The message User record created successfully appears and the user shows in the list.
  8. Open the tab Warehouses & Roles and follow Assigning a user to a warehouse. The warehouse assignment can be added only after the user is saved.

Not confirmed by code: what the card fills in for Language, Timezone, Date Format and Theme on a new user, and what happens when Password is left empty. The database requires the four preferences. To verify: see the note on User card, General tab. Fill all of them and the password to be safe.
